For Partners and Prospective Partners of SSL
The Space Sciences Laboratory (SSL) at UC Berkeley is a multidisciplinary research institution dedicated to advancing space and Earth science through the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge scientific instruments. Our work spans planetary science, geospace, heliophysics, and astrophysics & exoplanets, with a long history of innovation in instrumentation that enables transformative scientific discovery.
SSL approaches collaboration as a joint effort from concept study through execution. Depending on the nature of the project, we may contribute to:
- Early-stage concept development and feasibility studies
- Instrument design, prototyping, and fabrication
- Systems engineering and integration
- Environmental testing and mission readiness
- Data systems and post-deployment support
- 11-meter parabolic dish antenna for command/data links
Each collaboration is tailored to align with the scientific objectives, technical scope, and funding framework of the project.
If your organization is interested in exploring collaboration with SSL, please contact Dan Zevin at dzevin@berkeley.edu, or Yaling Zhu at yaling@berkeley.edu, who can advise on procurement and contract questions.
