The Space Sciences Laboratory Fund
Support the expansion of human knowledge of our planet, the solar system, and the universe by making a gift to the Space Sciences Laboratory Fund.
Your gift makes a difference
Since 1959, the UC Berkeley Space Sciences Laboratory (SSL) has been at the forefront of space exploration and technological innovation. We design and build instruments that allow spacecraft to touch the Sun and explore distant worlds, while advancing knowledge of Earth’s atmosphere, the solar system, and the cosmos. From our mission operations center, we navigate spacecraft in Earth orbit and beyond - delivering world-class science at a fraction of the cost of government facilities. Our discoveries in physics and planetary science help safeguard critical infrastructure from harmful space weather events, increase our nation’s space security, and train the next generation of space technologists and scientists.

SSL Student Engagement Fund
Support the next generation of space scientists and aerospace engineers to help them reach their full potential.
Your gift makes a difference
At UC Berkeley’s Space Sciences Laboratory (SSL), we are committed to shaping the future of space exploration by training the leaders of tomorrow. The demand from students eager to gain real-world experience in aerospace has never been higher — and we need your help to meet it. Your gift opens doors for Cal students to work side-by-side with world-class scientists and engineers on NASA missions, spacecraft design, technology development, and mission operations. Many receive stipends that remove financial barriers and allow them to focus fully on advancing their skills. By supporting SSL, you ensure that more students gain the expertise, mentorship, and confidence to drive innovation and leadership in the space sector.
