Yan is an Associate Research Physicist at the Space Sciences Laboratory. She has been working on CMEs and ICMEs through the analysis of solar imaging data and solar wind in situ observational data. In addition, she has also been working on the solar energetic particle (SEP) data from the STEREO twin spacecraft mission for the understanding of the sources and transport of SEPs, and recently on STEREO SWEA supra-thermal electron data to better understand the pitch angel distributions in CMEs and the implications to CME magnetic structure.
