Biography

Eric Linder is a UC Berkeley research physicist and has served as Deputy Director of the Berkeley Center for Cosmological Physics and Co-Director of the Institute for Nuclear and Particle Astrophysics at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He received his
Ph.D. from Stanford University and A.B. in Physics from Princeton University. His research ranges over theoretical and observational cosmology, gravitation, and fundamental physics, with over 200 refereed publications. He is involved in cosmic surveys such as DESI, LSST, Euclid satellite, Simons Observatory, and CMB-S4. He has been named Outstanding Referee of the American Physical Society and takes keen interest in international science and education, teaching at the world’s largest women’s university, Ewha University in Seoul Korea, as Distinguished Professor and has been named by the Mexican Academy of Sciences as Distinguished Visiting Professor. He has also written an undergraduate textbook, First Principles in Cosmology (Addison-Wesley, 1997).
