Biography

Brian Harding’s research is focused on understanding the dynamics of the upper atmosphere and the coupling between its neutral and ionized components. His interests range from instrumentation to data analysis to radiative transfer modeling, and he has developed ground- and space-based observational techniques in the optical, ultraviolet, infrared, and radio regimes. Since 2013 he has worked with the team for ICON, a mission led by the UC Berkeley Space Sciences Laboratory which will study the mechanisms by which Earth’s neutral dynamics can cause variability in the ionosphere.
