On July 2, 2019, a total solar eclipse will be visible in the southern Pacific region, crossing land in both Chile and Argentina. The Eclipse Camera 2019 app developed by the Space Science Laboratory and Ideum will incorporate the Chilean and Argentinean public into a unique citizen-science project. The data collected by the public, during this once-in-a-lifetime event, in Chile and Argentina will be added to the Megamovie Project database helping scientist to gain a better understanding of the solar corona.
