Assistant Researcher

Biography

Gwen is an Assistant Researcher in the Planetary group. Her research focuses on ion energization at unmagnetized Solar System bodies as well as energy balance in planetary ionospheres. She is also interested in the development of next-generation plasma physics instrumentation.

Gwen received her PhD in Physics at the University of California Berkeley in 2023, following a Bachelor’s of Arts in Physics and Astronomy from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2017. She has been a member of the Mars Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution MissioN (MAVEN) Science Team since 2016 and the Escape and Plasma Acceleration and Dynamics Explorers (ESCAPADE) team since 2023. When she’s not at work, she can be found playing Dungeons & Dragons.
