Biography

Dr. Lee works in the Space Physics Research Group (SPRG) on a variety of space weather science-related research projects. A major focus of her work is the use of observations together with numerical solar corona-solar wind models to investigate the interactions of the solar wind, interplanetary CMEs (ICMEs) and solar energetic particles (SEPs) at Earth, STEREO-A, and Mars and understanding the space weather impacts and effects at these locations. This includes analyzing in situ measurements of SEPs and upstream solar wind plasma and magnetic field conditions, characterizing space weather events using solar imagery and in-situ solar wind observations from assets along 1 AU (near-Earth/L1, STEREO-A) as well as numerical simulations from the Wang-Sheeley-Arge (WSA)-Enlil-cone + SEPMOD modeling system. Dr. Lee is involved in the NASA STEREO, IMAP, and MAVEN missions: Principal Investigator of the STEREO IMPACT instrument suite, Lead for the IMAP Mission’s Active Link for Real-time (I-ALiRT) space weather system, and Space Weather Lead for MAVEN.
