Biography
Carolyn J. Chee, Ph.D. – Aerospace Engineer, Space Sciences Laboratory
Carolyn currently is a aerospace engineer at UC Berkeley’s Space Sciences Laboratory where she works on advanced satellite applications for interplanetary probes and Earth orbiting satellites. She holds a B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Berkeley and has previously worked on Berkeley’s campus as an academic, researcher, and administrator. Carolyn has also worked at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and McDonnell Douglas Space Systems (now Boeing). Current and past missions/projects she has worked on include the Hubble Space Telescope, International Space Station, Galileo (Jupiter), Magellan (Venus), Voyager 1 and 2, Ulysses (Sun), TOPEX (Earth oceans), SIR-C (Earth), TRACERS (Earth), EscaPADE (Mars), HERMES (deep space weather), FUEGO (Earth wildfires), LuSEE-Night (lunar), SWFO-TIS (Earth geoeffective events).
