SPACE GRANT SUMMER FELLOWSHIPS
FOR GRADUATE AND UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS IN
SPACE SCIENCES AND SPACE ENGINEERING

UC Berkeley has many unique and exciting research opportunities in the space sciences, astrophysics, planetary sciences, space engineering, and science education. The objective of the Fellowship program is to recruit and train professionals, especially women and underrepresented minorities, for careers in space science, aerospace engineering, and allied fields. NASA Space Grant Summer Fellowships are available to support outstanding UC graduate students who are interested in entering these fields. The Fellowships provide partial salary support for the summer, with the remainder of support to come from the student's sponsoring research supervisor.

To apply for a Summer Fellowship, interested students should first contact faculty members or Space Sciences Laboratory (SSL) principal investigators to find a research sponsor for the summer [researchers based at the Space Sciences Laboratory are listed below]. Once a sponsor has been found, applicants should then send their curriculum vitae and a statement of their research plans, along with a letter of support from a faculty member or SSL principal investigator, to the address below. Support will not be given to students to continue research with their current supervisor.

Please note: U.S. citizenship and enrollment in a graduate program at UC Berkeley is required in order receive a fellowship. Non-U.S. citizens and those not enrolled at UC Berkeley are welcome to inquire about other summer positions.

Send your application (PDF form) and supporting materials to:
